Acne -how to deal with it
ACNE
This is a tornado that most women will never ever want to experience. i had acne sometimes back like a year ago and i struggled through thick and thin trying to get back my perfect face. i used to have a flawless face until i began taking birth control pills. aaaarrgghhh!!!!! it was horrible. it began with a big pimple on my right cheek , the next day i had 3 more and i assumed that my menses are around the corner. the following day some appeared on my fore head and i began to seriously contemplate on what might be the cause. was it a food that i consumed ? was it the foundation powder that i was using ? more and more ideas ran through my mind. "what's up with your face Risper?" that was one question i had to deal with whenever i met a friend on the school corridors. i bowed down my head in shame and replied," i used a wrong facial cream and got this but i'm working on it." i lied. one of my friends out of nowhere suggested that i should stop eating margarine as it gives people huge pimples whenever it is over consumed. i laughed at that Blondie theory cause i myself do not take margarine.
little by little i became obsessed by the condition and it really negatively impacted my life. i stopped hanging around with friends, stopped attending classes and bought every single acne cream on the counter but the condition turned from bad to worse. i took my problems online and the first thing that came up on my search result was a shock. the birth control pills that i took religiously was the main cause for the acne. i took a deep breathe, read through other peoples' story and i pledged to never take them again. the hormones in the pill were reacting with my body cells. A month later after the withdrawal, my face was back to its normal state. smooth and perfect. that was the joy i had longed for in 3 months of using the daily pills.
Acne affects us both emotionally and physically.
when you look around all magazine covers, run ways and commercial advertisement are embraced with this beautiful, flawless skin ladies. none of them has dark spots. if you are suffering from acne, here are a few tips on how you can manage your acne.
HOW TO MANAGE ACNE
1. seek a dermatological advice before using any acne cream.
2.make sure you clean your face twice morning and evening. do not rub with a cloth rather use your finger tips to rub.
3. use a clinically tested moisturizer, cleanser and toner. neutrogena are the best. http://www.neutrogena.com/product/oil-free+acne+wash.do
4. let your skin heal naturally. to not pop, pick or squeeze the pimples. if you do this, more and more pimples form around the area.
5.do not touch your face as it will cause flare ups.
6. drink plenty of water. water is a true healer. it flashes away the toxins for a clearer skin.
7. do not put on make -up (from morning to morning). make up doesn't give your skin space to breathe and therefore it blocks the pores and cause flare ups.
8. do not use bleaching agents for dark spots.
9. clear your mind and don't think about the acne.
10. be patient. nothing works overnight.
