DEATHLY ROMANCE

 
I do not know how to express how i feel about the stories i hear from time to time about online romance turning sour. This topic gives me chills and goose bums whenever i come across it in the net or on papers.In today's paper, i got a real shocker, another young beautiful and promising girl commits suicide over a 'foreign lover' or should i just say a serial killer ?!! A Terrorist sounds even much better. Social Media has truly come wrapped up with blessings and curses. Anytime you log in to your Facebook page, there is always a friend request from this handsome, prince charming , the Lord of your virtual dream land and the only apple to your eye -kind of guy with a body physique that would make Thor's ,CHRIS HEMSWORTH put on his shirt and go to a far a way land. Enough of that.... Personally, i have received friend request from such people and like any other girl, i was  blinded by the muscular physique and his quirky smile that is contagious. I accept and confirm that he can be my friend. Within a blink of an eye I'm all over his page 'stalking' him. my jaws drop...and i have to pick them up... from his profile picture i see that he is a CEO of a company somewhere in Europe . i grind my teeth, telling myself finally my Mr. Right is here. His uploads is filled with all these big rides, and yachts and only a SINGLE pic of him. The notification box pops up and it's a message from him. Allow me to call him Mr.T. "hey sexy, thank you for the Add. i must say, you are truly beautiful and the earth would not have been into existence without you." (what a sweet charmer, a smooth operator for that matter. :-p). any girl would die just to hear this romantic words from the opposite sex."Thank you for the compliment", i innocently replied. That was three days ago. Today as i was running up and down in the office, i had a glance at the pull-out magazine and the first thing that caught my eyes was the headline "ROMANCE WITH DEATH".Below the article was a picture of this HOT GUY ...(when i say he is HOT, he is awesomely HOT) just like the man of my dreams. 'tehehehehe' and the girl was young and a perfect epitome of a super model/ the runway girls.The stories goes that they had met on facebook a similar case to mine and that is where the 'love' brew. After a couple of months Mr. HOT jets in Kenya and Mary* is all excited about her dream date coming into reality. They check in a hotel and the worst happens. it turned out that our beloved Mr. HOT was nothing short than just a 'MOJO JOJO' disguising himself as captain America coming to save her from her love life troubles.

It happened that the guy in a porn artist who poach girls who are extremely desperate for a foreign lover. He filmed her nude, abused her sexually almost leaving her for dead. In her suicidal note, the girl wrote,"he asked me the most bizarre thing i had ever heard. He wanted me to eat his 'scoop' and stool as a way of showing my sensual feelings towards him.This was not the same man i had been chatting with on Facebook."

He even threatened the girl that if she says a word , he would post and sell the pictures all over internet and say that she is a prostitute. The 19 year old could not live by this horrific terror as she had defiled her elder sister's warning against the foreigner. She consumed poison and that was the end of her precious life. shadow of gloom has befallen not only the family but the society at large. May her soul rest in peace.

From this story, i solely declare today that i have learn a lesson and will NEVER EVER  reply/ accept/chat with strangers online no matter how jaw dropping their looks are. I urge you all ladies out there, be careful with people you meet online,not all of them are the men of your dreams. Instead of bringing you the glass shoe like Cinderella's they bring you a sharp dagger that will pierce not only your heart but your soul as well. This case study is just one out of a million that has happened and still happening in our country and you do not want to be one of the statistics. Love will always find you at the right time and at the right place. Just hold your horses and keep calm.
